More and more camping lovers take their bicycles when going on a camping holidays. Island Krk is an interesting location as it is very diverse, offering rich adventures to the ones on mountain as well as road bikes.

Krk is offering several excellent campsites, some are even opened all year round, which is especially convenient for cycling in spring or autumn. 

Cycling is quite popular on Krk in low seasons, when air temperatures are not that high and when traffic is much lighter than in summer. We prepared a list of all campsites on Krk, that are opened also in low season. Several campsites offer not only well arranged camping pitches, but also mobile homes that ensure comfortable holidays, as they have private kitchen and bathroom, as well as additional heating for cooler days.

Island Krk - cycling routes for all cyclists

Krk has almost 700 cycling routes which makes it an excellent destination, for connecting camping with active holidays on bike. Basically, from each larger city it is possible to reach routs suitable for road as well as mountain cyclists.

One of the most known cycling routes for mountain biking goes from Baska to the moon-region, which offers splendid views to Velebit and island Rab. Many cycling tracks can be found around town Krk - one great leads you through the olive groves up to town Kornic, also around Malinska, Omisalj and Klimno cyclists will find their way.

​Road cylists can select one of five well marked routes across the central part of the island, while the ones that are looking for a bit more demanding exercise, will cycle to Stara Baska or Baska - both roads offer several longer and steeper slopes.

For family cycling we advise arranged asphalted cycling route between towns Krk and Punat. This is actually part of larger path towards Malinska, but it's well marked and divided from the mail road. Second option would be from town Krk to Prniba peninsula on the eastern side of the town that offers beautiful nature, bathing opportunities and nice view across town Punat from the sea side. Well-arranged rout is as well from camping Njivice towards tourist complex Kijac.

All together offers island Krk over 600km of arranged cycling routes - all are accessible on mobile application KRKbike ( Google play| AppStore). Of course is avaliable as well traditional cycling map that is avaliable on all info points across Krk.

Another option is also guided cycling tour and the right person would be Nikola from Bike centre Krk, that knows all the routes and paths suitable for cycling - all the trips are adjusted to the knowledge and experiences of their guests. There is as well posible to rent an electric or mountain bike.

Camping on island Krk

Use the opportunity that Krk campsites prepared for all the holders of the Avtokampi Camping Card - affordable camping all over the island.

Jezevac Preium Camping Resort - camping opened all year round. It has great location, only few minutes' walk from town Krk. Well-arranged camping pitches along with modern mobile homes for 2, 4 or 6 persons. This year they renovated sanitary facilities that are more closed and comfortable to use also in cooler days. Children will enjoy playgrounds and swimming pools with heated water that can be opened by October if weather allows it. Price for camping with camping card - from 20€ for 2 persons in low seasons.

Camping Bor - all year round opened campsite above the Krk city. It is located around kilometre from the beach and offers great overview across the Krk and its surrounding. Very friendly hosts, well arranged sanitary facilities and excellent homemade wine. Price for camping in low season 13€ for 2 persons.

Krk Premium Camping Resort - best campsite on island Krk that is opened from April to mid- October. They offer well-arranged camping pitches with view across the sea, upper part has mobile homes. Animation for children, sports center, childrens' playground and heated pool opened almost whole season. Town Krk is reachable in 20 minutes walk by waterfront path that is not suitable for cycling.

Camping Aminess Atea Resort - ex camping Njivice - is opened from April till October. In last years completely renovated campsite with large campsites equipped with water and electricity connection. Mobile homes for 4 - 6 people, also in first row with private pool. Nicely arranged pebble beach with bar, dog beach and large children's playground. Price on camping card in low season from 20 € for 2 adults.

Camping Omisalj is the first campsite when reaching island Krk and brand new. It's opened from mid-April till November. Left part of the pebble bay is meant for camping, the right part offers mobile homes. There are children's playgrounds and swimming pool (water is not heated). Shop and restaurant.

Camping Baska (ex camping Zablace) is opened from mid-April to mid-October. Campiste is located along 2km well known peblle beach and offers mostly sunny camping pitches. Better shaded pitches are in the central part of the campsite, around reception you will find mobile homes. Baska is known by several hiking trails and mountain bikining trails. Price on camping card in low season from 18 € for 2 adults.

Camping Mali Baska is smaller campsite with around 30 campsites. It is located 150 m from the beach, opened from March till November. It has well arranged sanitary facilities and affordable prices in low seasons. 5% discount is granted to holders of the camping card.

Camping Glavotok is located on the western side of the island which ensures protection against the bora wind and makes it interestig also in low seasons. There are some sunny camping pitches by the sea, most of the rest camping pitches are well shaded. Some mobile homes and bungalows for 4 - 6 persons are set on the right hand side of the camp, qiute close to the beach. There is small shop and good restaurant. Diving centre and kayak rental are in campsite. Price on camping card in low season from 20 € for 2 adults.
